Absessed tooth extracted and still have pain?

I had two absessed teeth for about a week or so. I went to the dentist and had both absessed teeth pulled. They were still infected. However it has been more than 24 hours and I'm still having the same pain. It's not as strong but still strong. I'm gargling salt water, taking antibiotics, and pain mess. And still in pain. Is this normal or is there still an absessed? Or is it a dry socket? I don't smoke, and did everything I was supposed to do and not do correctly. Please help I am in pain. I will try anything to relieve the pain.
